You'd probably better use the PFE freeware PC editor (Programmer's File Editor)
for working on configuration files in the \\your3k\MGR.APACHE disk share as it
can save files in DOS or Unix format (CR LF versus LF only) and I'm not sure if
Apache would like to see "trailing CR control characters" in its config files.

See http://www.lancs.ac.uk/people/cpaap/pfe for details on PFE and download.

Cheers, Lars (another happy Apache/iX user ;-)

PS: PFE is much more powerful and handy than NotePad or WordPad in my opinion.
Pretty slick mouse operation (select and drag/drop text blocks) as well as
some helpful macro language (including recorder). Well done and free :-)
