I am having difficulty installing patch FTPDS17A on my MPE/iX
5.5PP3 machine. SPecifically the following occurs when I try to
unpack the file.

***Decoding truck file....

END OF PROGRAM
***ASCII patch truck file decode completed!!!

GROUP EAPIDP TO BE PURGED? (YES/NO)COPYING PATCH FILES TO
PATCHXL.SYS

cp: ../EAPIDP/*: No such file or directory

END OF PROGRAM
Failed copy of files to /SYS/PATCHXL

If anyone can tell me what is going on here, and particularly,
how I can fix it I would be most grateful.

On a side note, if anyone from HP reading this message can
influence the people that write things like UNPACKP, could you
advise them that if a program is going to irrevokably change a
file (like MOVER does to a TRUCK file say), then it would be a
REALLY, REALLY, GOOD IDEA to have the script copy the original
first and then let MOVER or whatever destroy that file. So that
if something goes wrong later on in their script then the poor
sot who is trying to get things working won't be faced with
downloading yet another copy of the patch file(s). Either that,
or tell people to first make a copy for themselves in the
instructions.

I remind potential correspondents that I only receive the
digest version of the list at midnight each day so please direct
any responses to my e-maill address as well as the list.

Thanks again,
Jim
