It is a fairly widely documented fact that you can indeed install from a
Windows 95 CD, even if it is the upgrade one.  I have been told that if you
hit the escape key when Windows 95 install looks for an earlier version,
this check will be bypassed.

I do not condone this action, but in a panic, when you are legally
re-installing Windows 95 after you have formatted the disk drive, this is a
procedure you can use.

For me, the greatest thing about this thread is that I now know that I'm
not the only one that spends days fighting with stupidities in Windows.
Also one or two good hints on swapping disks which I'm about to get into.

Incidentally, you can't boot from the Windows95 CD if you have an upgrade
disk.  Wha'ts more you HAVE to have a copy of Windows (of some flavor) on
one of your discs in order to re-install.
