Not done it before but I'm considering to do something similar soon.
We have a number of REEL and DDS media here (all those various Mainline,
Express, PowerPatch and independent releases that accumulate over time)
and I'd like to have some backup copy in case someone breaks a borrowed
(original) media or "forgets" to return it...

I'm considering to use my little TapeCOPY (freeware) program (lots of
similar tools exist, eg Stan's at Allegro, Wolfgang's on Jazz) to copy
a number of those media into disc archive files (maybe HFS names) and
then STORE a bundle of those to DDS-3 or DLT.

Something like /ARCHIVE/REEL/C.50.00/FOS-1of2.TC
                                     /FOS-2of2.TC
                                     ...
                                     /PP7-1of3.TC
                                     ...

A reasonable number of files might be sufficient to fill a DDS well.

Lars.

PS: I do not have Bering's XOver, as you can easily guess by the above.
