The SLT is the Factory System Load Tape. It has no add-on subsystems on it
(every customer gets an copy of the same FOS, SLT and POWERPATCH tapes; the
PROD/SUBSYS is the only one customized for your system handle). The CSLT is
the "Customized System Load Tape". The SYSGEN "TAPE" command creates a CSLT,
not an SLT.

A CSLT and a FULL backup (with the DIRECTORY option) is all you need to
rebuild your system, but it is much easier if you have BULDJOB1 and BULDJOB2
(the result of running BULDACCT.PUB.SYS;INFO="@") either on the full backup
or, better, on a seperate tape. I added NMCONFIG because earlier versions of
MPE/iX used to trash it during an upgrade, and it wasn't on the full backup
(always in use) and it wasn't on the CSLT. They've fixed that, but "once
bitten, forever shy".

I do a lot of re-installs (for testing porpoises). My emergency kit includes
NMCONFIG, the customized NET.SYS files, Stan's ONLINE program (it lets you
put tapes back online without hiking to the computer room), a current CSLT,
and a full backup with BULDJOB1 and BULDJOB2 on it.

It helps to have a recent listing of your SYSGEN IO and VOLUTIL setup, too.
All of my hardware has a label with the ldev and io path on it, and I have
our user volume setup memorized.

Security note: BULDJOB1 contains all of your passwords; don't leave it lying
around on your system.

Good luck!
