Hello one.... more.... time.... all IMAGE users:

Early this morning my fellow member of the SIEC Joe
Geiser reminded everyone that the sand in the hour-
glass is down to the last few grains:

> There are only two days left to cast your SIGIMAGE
> ballot, so that it's included in the Interex System
> Improvement Ballot.

> The URL is http://www.csillc.com/sigimage/

Well, I can report that with just over 21 hours left for
the SIGIMAGE polls to remain open before the totals are
forwarded to Interex for the SIB, it is neck and neck for
many of the enhancement requests in the "Top 20" results
at this point. Just a few more people voting could easily
move several items up or down five or six places in the
ranking; and in many cases change which items make
the final "Top 10" results.

I am encouraged that we have already exceeded the total
number of Enhancement Ballots received last year: In '97
a total of 74 valid SIGIMAGE Ballots were returned. There
were 65 total in 1996. As of 21:21 PM EST tonight we
have 84 ballots at the above URL for '98.... HOWEVER:

A small confession: Given the ease of voting via the web
this year, I was *really* hoping that we could get >= 100
Ballots for 1998. In order to make that goal, somehow I
need to convince 16 more IMAGE users around the world
to point their browsers at the ballot and fill one out in the
next 21 hours. HP EMPLOYEES ARE ELIGIBLE and
are in fact ENCOURAGED TO VOTE !!

With tens of thousands of world-wide HP 3000 sites, surely
we can find 100 people willing to give HP their input on what
IMAGE enhancements they should work on next ??

How about it; can I get >= 16 more people to help me out
here ??.....

Thank you,

Ken "in stretch drive harangue mode" Sletten
SIGIMAGE Chair
