Howdy,

Our nightly backups are ASAP moved to one of them 3000 degree for
1.5 hour tape vaults located about 1/8 mile from the computer room
on the second floor of a cinder block building which is entirely
contained under the facility roof. Occasionally (secret stuff) we
haul off full backups to an offsite vaulted facility. Works well,
keeps auditors happy. Also implies you have a facility large enough
to do something like this.

As a note, somtimes auditors/management are satisfied if the backups
are away from the machine room in a "fire retardandt" environment
as opposed to "fire proof" (not sure if "fire proof" is an oxymoron or not).
Sounds strange but I've been there.

good luck,
Jim Trudeau
