Hello 3000-L users,
There have been many postings - some good, and some not so
good - regarding the 918DX bundle lately.
I would like to take this opportunity to shed some light on
some of the issues posted and update you on your contacts for
the US and Europe.
Introductions first - 918DX Marketing Contacts:
My name is Adrian den Hartog. I have taken over responsibility
for the 918DX for the Americas from Steve Little.
In Europe, Michael Robinson is responsible, taking over from
myself on that side of the vast Atlantic pond.
Our telephone numbers and e-mail addresses:
- Michael R. int + 49 (0)7031 - 14 3889 ([log in to unmask])
- Adrian d H. (408) 447 - 4883 ([log in to unmask])
Please use them!!

Issues...
=========
- Difference in program inplementation for different
geographies causes confusion:
For various reasons (including legal), USA and European
implementation varies in some key points. Please be aware of
this and ask Michael or myself if you have any specific
questions.
- Approvals:
a). For the Americas, contact Adrian.
b). For Europe, call Michael and/or send an e-mail
to Michael and your respective regional HP 3000
Marketing Manager: Jean-Paul Ferouelle, Horst
Kanert or Betrand Collongy.
For Europe: please include your HP contacts (order processing
person, account manager or distributor you usually
purchase from).
- Processes/distribution:
a). For USA, the 918DX is available direct from HP only.
b). For Europe, distribution through 3rd party IS possible.
(i.e. CSL had an issue - Contact Ingram Micro, they have been
updated/educated).
- Ordering Menu
The ordering menu is now available on ESP - for those partners
who have access to this - Keywords: 918DX, 918DXORER, 9x8.
- Price:
USA, BASE system is as posted on the Jazz server.
Europe, BASE system price matches that of USA price.
May vary due to currency exchange rates (max + 1,000 USD).
Warning: start adding support and 128 memeory modules, the
total figure on your quote will look relatively
high compared to the base system.
I believe this covers some of the posted issues that I have been
forwarded by Jeff Vance - thank you Jeff for drawing my attention
to this.
I appreciate your interest in obtaining the 918DX for developing
applications on the HP 3000 and the continued discussions going
on here at 3000-L.
Best regards,
Adrian den Hartog
918DX Program Manager
