 it depends :-)  this is the word i got from my pas engineer....there are

certain product upgrades on the express 3 subsys tape.  if you have
'those certain' products, you want to use express 3 subsys and pp4.
if you don't have 'those certain' products, you only need pp4.  of
course, this means what are *these certain* products??  i wish i could
tell you for certain.  i remember hearing cobol being mentioned <sigh>
i think the best thing to do is get the response center on the horn.

an additional word of advice...i guess when pp2 was released, the
account(?) engineers were told to do the updates in two steps -
do slt & fos first with autoinst, followed by the subsys & pp second
with patch/ix.  THIS DOES NOT WORK (excuse my loud words :-)
anymore.  if you are going from 5.0 to 55pp4 do the whole thing
in one step with autoinst.  do it the other way (in two steps) and
you get to do your update twice.  do i really need to tell you *why*
i know this? <sigh>              - d 'got the t-shirt :-)'
