     Tracy,

We are currently evaluating Symbol's RF devices with our local Peak
sales rep in New Jersey. We set the ManMan TERMJCW to 5 (VT100) and
the devices work fine (As long as you stay with the traditional
     "Conversation" mode commands).

Our Peak rep does know about ManMan, and says he even has a few
reference accounts we can call if/when needed.

The only 3rd-party software that might be of any use from Peak is
called "ScreenShaper". It can take a full size screen of data from the
host (HP3000) and pull out the important stuff to be displayed on the
     small RF device screens.

     Regards,

Bob Mueller [log in to unmask]

Subject: Symbol Tech Scanners & MANMAN

I have a client that has acquired some used Symbol Technologies LRT 3800
scanners and I'm trying to find a 3rd party bold on product to interface
these items to MANMAN on an HP3000.

First I called Symbol Technologies and they told be they don't sell
software products with their scanners (???) and referred me to Peak
Technologies.

Second I've been getting the runaround from Peak for a solid two weeks as
if they've never heard of MANMAN or the HP3000. (The latest the sales
person told me was that they were conferring with Symbol Technologies.
(??? Remember the previous paragraph?).

Anyone out there know of a decent third party product that interfaces
this hardware to the HP3000?
