I have received many responses to my initial question and I have
tried several variations of the following:

  FCONTROL( _mpe_file( fileno ( Fp ), 6, 0);

However, I still don't have any EOF posts being made until the file is
fclose(d). The next question that I have in working this out is the
process in checking the condition codes and or fs errors. I see
references for the CCL macro but I would like an example or some sort
of documentation in retrieving the FSERR.
