As promised a few days ago, the new version of QCTerm is now available for
downloading at:

      http://aics-research.com/qcterm/index.html

This version would seem to support block mode and forms mode transmissions.
It's been tested against NMMGR, Qedit, and DBChange (a VPLUS-driven program)
-- and found to work reliably in all of these situations -- with one
exception, as noted below.

This version also contains an enhanced (prettier) version of Telnet than did
the last release. The only problem we've found with any program so far is
running Qedit under Telnet. The normal rules of Telnet are to strip LFs
(linefeeds) from the transmission. Qedit, on the other hand, normally wants to
see LFs during its updates in visual mode. To solve the problem, Robelle has
recently added a new command:

     Set visual ignoreLF on

to allow the use of Qedit over Telnet when Telnet clients such as QCTerm's are
in use. If your version of Qedit doesn't support this command setting, you
will need to contact Robelle for an updated version of Qedit.

If you are downloading an update of QCTerm, all that you need do is click on
the download hyperlink, and once downloaded, execute the qcterm.exe file. A
new version will automatically be substituted for the old.

If you are downloading a new version, it would be best to print out the
instructions page from the URL above and follow it closely.

As always, we would sincerely appreciate hearing about your experiences
regarding what's working and what's not. And as always, there are a number of
people to sincerely thank for their help in getting this version up and
running. For this release, those requiring special mention are Adager and
Robelle.
