Hi all,

This came across another list I'm on and I thought it might be of
interest to HP3000-L readers. Admiral Grace Hopper was a computing
pioneer, instrumental in the development of COBOL among many other things.

Admiral Hopper came and spoke to the students at our high school a few
years
back. Her take-home message regarding the importance of trusting your gut
reactions was "It is easier to apologize afterwards rather than ask
permission
beforehand." The faculty winced in unison at this advice to a bunch of
bushy-tailed teens. She was quite a person, it seems.
