I'm trying to remember. A few years ago, when the device I/O was not working
(controller or some other I/O card) I keep thinking I got the same message.

Also, have you re-booted your system lately?

Subject: Logical device gone?

What would cause a device (Tape drive) which has been configured on our
system
for years to just disappear?  When we do a show device we receive: Logical
device does not exist on system.
What utility can I use to browse/manage this type of information?   Keep in
mind I am a novice MPE user!
