an alternative to MS extensions might be ht://dig which I understand
is available as freeware at http://htdig.sdsu.edu (including source).

Unfortunately I have not yet found the time to give it a try.
Any volunteers out there? I'd be willing to help with the port.

I sometimes whish I had a 918DX at home but I guess porting freeware
would not provide enough revenue to pay the associated costs. Sigh.
