We are developing an application in Visual Basic 3.0 and are accessing
an Image/SQL database through a DBE using the new ODBCLink/SE software
     provided with Express 3 of MPE/iX 5.5.

Our database has approximately 6,000,000 (million) total records
     spread over about 24 datasets.

All of our data manipulations work, selects, inserts, update, and
deletes, but a select was just attempted against our main dataset that
itself contains 5,000,000 records. The select used a key value
(search item) but was supposed to return about 13,000 records and
instead failed. (The select is one of our standard searches but these
searches usually return only about 4,000 records). The error returned
was error 3146 an error that I have interpreted in the past as a SQL
syntax error, but, in this case the syntax is correct.

My main question is, would the size of the DBEFile affect the quantity
of records returned? Our DBEFile is set to 10,000 pages (about 20
     megabytes).

Given the size of the data base does our DBEFile need expanding? If
so, what is the best way of expanding this file?

Private e-mail is welcome, as are requests for more information.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
