The "To:" header can really have any sort of garbage. What your SMTP server
really cares about is the recipient's address in the SMTP "envelope" (the
recipient specified in the "MAIL TO: xxxxxx" smtp client/server dialogue).

Unless your SMTP server records the envelope address, you'll probably never see
your name in the headers of spam.

Which reminds me: About a month ago I posted an offer of my "spam tips" on this
list. My little FAQ on anti-spamming grew into a 34Kb mini tutorial.

I originally offered to mail it to all those interested by a certain date in
December. I later decided against it, so I'd put it up on my web page at work
and just mail the URL. With Christmas and all, I half-finished it and forgot
about it later on. I've just cleaned it up and put it on my web page.

So, here it is: http://www.cbbanorte.com.mx/~mzamora/ (you'll get a redirect to
another page in there, which in turn has a link to the tutorial itself. Don't
bookmark those pages yet, they'll probably move around, just bookmark the home
page if you really want to, for the time being).

This message is BCC'd to all those who sent me mail in December asking for the
tutorial. Sorry about taking so long about it.

As always, constructive criticism is always welcome :-).

Cheers... Marco Zamora
