   um... You are right about the song :) but hey even the young pup like me
remembers that song ... hehehe

    And I must admit to not remembering the part about having the weapons taken
away from Paul Revere ...

     Tho, I know that the Militia is still very much around :) ...  It is called
the Army National Guard and as of 01 January, 1998 we had personnel serving in
66 countries around the globe...

Hmmmm... seems like this came from a ballad called 'The Battle of
New Orleans', made popular by Johnny Horton.  I think I still
have his Greatest Hits albumn containing this, from the late
60's (if I recall, without searching for it....)
