The other replies showed how to run the Posix shell. This all assumed
you at least have MPE/iX 5.0 (if not 5.5).

You may also want to understand how to use MPE to access directories and
long filename, etc., than came with Posix. For this you don't need the
Posix shell at all. Look into the MPE commands NEWDIR, CHDIR, LISTFILE,
etc. for discussion of the HFS. I was very surprised and please at all
the new things MPE can do without using SH.

As to moving files to (and from) the DG Unix box, why not just use FTP
and copy them straight across the net?
