Daniel,
I have used UHAUL in the pastto send out large groups of files.
Here's how to do it;
-Identify the list of files to send. (they should be in the same group
and account)
-Create the 'TRUCK' and 'LOAD' it
1) :RUN UHAUL.PUB.TELESUP
2) CHOOSE THE LOAD OPTION
3)IN ORDER TO LOAD THE TRUCK you must type in EACH file by name,
one at a time. (I named my 'TRUCK' 'michele.job.acct')
4) verify the list of files you have 'LOADED'
5)Once the "TRUCK' is loaded you can then DSCOPY the 'TRUCK' where you
want.
6) Once the DSCOPY is done (use a batch job, so you can check the
stdlist).
NOTE: UHAUL is an unsupported tool!
7) After you verify the 'TRUCK' was indeed copied you will then
'UNLOAD' it.
8) :RUN UHAUL.PUB.TELESUP
9) CHOOSE THE UNLOAD OPTION (you will enter in the name of the
"TRUCK")
10) When the TRUCK is UNLOADED you will see the message:
'UNLOAD COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY'
NOTE: Even though the STDLIST from step 6 says the 'TRUCK' was sent
this may not be true. So I include a IF FINFO ('michele.job.acct',
'EXISTS') THEN statement to the DSCOPY batch job. These 'TRUCK' files
can take awhile to DSCOPY in which case there may be an issue if the
connection terminates. In my case I have over 30 machines. I send out
the 'TRUCK' file and the 'UNLOAD' job to each location. If any of the
'UNLOAD' jobs fail I simply restream it.
If I remember correctly there is a default 'TRUCK' file size. If you
have trouble getting the 'TRUCK' to load all of your files you will
need to make it larger.
I hope this helps, its a bit rough but its been awhile since I've used
it.
Good Luck and Happy Holidays,
Michele Conant
