[log in to unmask][log in to unmask], 11 Dec 1997 21:22:00 +0000348_- I just learned from the HPRC that without a patch (MPEJXP9), they cannot
read DUMPS
if you have used Stage/iX to apply previous patches.
Has anyone else heard/experienced this?

They also say there are no plans they can see to include this patch in the
upcoming Express 4, nor do they believe it was included in Express 3. [...]47_11Dec199721:22:[log in to unmask]

Shudder, no doubt. That would be just amazing. In terms of stability, MPE
would burn bright in high winds compared to NT.

Maybe I missed something here, but what is causing you
to reboot the 3000 that is Samba/Posix related? I shudder
to think that anyone would say that NT is more stable than
MPE (even if it is playing on it's home court :)

Michael (yes, I rely on NT too) Gueterman

Err, uh, sorry, but, I've been with MPE since 1972 (Bad year), and
seem to recall that it was darned stable (robust?) by 76. Never got
as solid as RTE, but no one has. NT looks good, but I'll reserve
judgement on it until its been arround a while. It *does* seem to do
a much better job as a file server than MPE with Samba. At least it
doesn't need rebooting quite as often, but that is samba/posix, not
MPE.
