     Jim asks:
     >1) Is there a replacement printer for the 2934A (we use four of
     >these and they are real work horses)?

Please note that this is NOT a plug! It is simply a reply to a
     question from a fellow lister.

The replacement for the 2934A is the P405. It is manufactured by PSi
GmbH in Germany but can be purchased thru HP. It is dot matrix and
can handle up to 6-part forms. It includes "typical HP 2934 and HP
2235" emulation. You have a choice of either fanfold or cutsheet.
     Throughput of 500 pages/hour or 20,000 pages/month. Built for a heavy
printing workload but quiet enough to operate in an office
     environment. Draft:600cps NLQ:300cps LQ:150cps

Parallel Centronics and serial RS232C/RS 422(can use a JetDirect EX
Plus to connect to a LAN)

     HP Barcode: Code39, 2 of 5 industrial, 2 of 5 interleaved,
Matrix 2 of 5, User defined

     Printer: PSYP405P List price $3,250
Printer stand: PSYP405S List price $352
Pack of 5 printer ribbons: PSYP405R List price $150
Printer head replacement(print head lasts ~350,000 pages)
                PSYP405H List price $717

     Jim,

I am faxing you a copy of a datasheet. Some of it will not come thru
the fax very clean but the most important information should be very
     readable.
