You can make your 3k use a DNS by setting up a 'resolv.conf'-file. In
MPE name-space it's called RESLVCNF.NET.SYS. You should have either that
file or a file called RSLVSAMP.NET.SYS. Check them out, it's fairly easy
to figure out how you can modify them to suit your site. I don't know
what manuals/docs has info on this, I just modified RSLVSAMP to reflect
our setup and copied it to RESLVCNF... and was amazed to see
name-resolution work... (you should probably create a link from posix
name-space to that file as well... but apps in MPE-land won't need that)
As of recently, thanks to the tremendous porting-efforts of some
dedicated 3k'ers, you can make your 3k act as a DNS. But that's another
story (that I know next to nothing about (is it mr Bixby that ported
BIND?? sorry if I offended someone by mixing names up)) ... someone else
will probably tell you more on that.
