One thing that worked for me a couple of times is not necessarily raising
the priority of the process you're having a problem with, but rather
lowering all the other processes that may be impeding it. Somehow this
worked (apparently) because the problem process got what it wanted and
"went away".

If your process is in the DS queue put other processes in the ES queue.
If the problem process is in the ES queue, try pidgeonholing other
processes to a numeric queue one lower than what your ES queue bottoms
out. (More often than not, the default ES queue range is usually a
couple numbers higher than the maximum lower limit.)
