Shawn,

In most of the programs I've seen/written, you would simply issue
a "timed read" on $STDIN( or $STDINX), then when the timer pops,
check the condition code to see that yes in fact you got there because
the time expired, then process your screen update. If you got there
because someone typed something, then process their request, then
update the screen and return once more.

Subject: [HP3000-L] SOS/Glance style screen prompting

Does anyone know how you would go about building an environment where
you are displaying information to a screen every 'n' seconds, but also
able to accept input from the user.

thanks,
shawn
