Yes, upgrade to the latest Perl/iX 5.004_01 from:

        http://www.cccd.edu/~markb/perlix.html

Perl 5.003 is missing a few bits of important functionality.  My port is much
more complete.

You might want to wait a day or so before upgrading.  At the top of my To-Do
list for today is to roll my Perl MPE patches from 5.004_01 to the latest &
greatest 5.004_04.  Watch for the announcement.
