Mike, one thing that your MATH is missing, is in addition to your '$1010', you
 forgot one thing, PARTS!!
What if a processor board dies? $20,000 $30,000 mabye more!!
The other factor is, you might not be able to get a CE on site for a couple of
 days if they are all busy in your area.
Can you afford to be without your 3000 for 3 or 4 days and STILL pay $25,000 to
 fix it?
Seems rather simple to me.
