I did the same. Now I get multiple CD-ROM's, all in their own box, with
their own brown paper packing material, ...

Hi Tim,
I found the answer to this problem...at least for me :)

When I switched my support to LaserRom I quit getting the multiple
mailings
along with all the *EXCESSIVE* packaging! 'course I also saved a good
chunk of
money on my support agreement .... go figgur'

This has probably been discussed here before, but I just can't let it
go:

<grump mode>

I just received the "iX 5.5 EXP3 Communicator MNL Kit" (the 5.5 express
3 Communicator Manual). Actually I received 3 of them, one each for our
two current systems, one for a system we just got rid of -- which we
dropped support on over 3 months ago.

These manuals each came in a cardboard box, with an attached plastic
shipping envelop that contained an 8 1/2 x 11" packing list. Inside
each box was a large sheet of brown paper packing material, a "Shipment
Content List", and a "Deliver Immediately" plastic mailing envelope.
Inside the plastic envelope was a "Kit Contents List" and the Manual
itself.

For three manuals, that's 3 cardboard boxes, 3 large sheets of brown
paper, 3 plastic mailing envelopes, 3 manuals, and 9 pieces of paper!
Now, I can recycle the cardboard, the brown packing paper, and the
letter sheets (the plastic is very difficult to recycle), -- but that's
not the complaint: I only need _one_ manual, and what's wrong with a
single plain brown mailing envelope?

I realize that corporate cogs sometimes revolve very slowly, but I think
that reducing the amount of packing material as soon as possible would
save HP a _great_deal_ of money, and maybe even reduce *our* cost!
