Hi Ken,
        I snipped your good explaination to save space :) (pat on back ehehhe)

       I saw that when I changed a program from one of my vendors to print on a
laser printer instead of my system line printer.

       I put it down to the vendor not knowing about or not wanting to use the
"After advancing page" command in COBOL.   Worked great :)   btw the creeping
did occasionally show up even on my line printer :(
