Paul,

More than likely, there is a listener job, which has a process pool to
handle the requests, much like the ODBC drivers - especially ODBC/32.
 These create "sessions" in that the session has already been established,
but the logon information is changed.  I could get into a novel on how
this works - but suffice it to say, "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa
Claus" when it comes to not counting these as sessions (if this is how it
is handled).
