After the help from Gavin (thanks again) on solving my ESC problem, I
have an answer to my other problem.

For review;  we received the following error on our system while using a
tape drive.
MISSING MSG SET=1 MESSAGE=417
PARM(S)=8;;;;
GENMSG CALLER STATUS: %101000 DELTA-P: %177777
GENMSG CALLER +1 STATUS: %140023 DELTA-P: %040000

Seems that HP is aware of this problem and have an SR for it. (Copied
from the RC)
