    Thanks for this info and URL :)   I keep getting asked by users why their
emails are not getting to the recipient as fast as normal :(

Now, I can go find out how the traffic situation is doing :)

While not HP3000-centric, this may "explain some things."

There's a web site that includes the day's "InterWeather" (Internet
Weather), showing how the Internet infrastructure is holding up that day.
For example, today's (Friday, 9/12) info is:

InterWeather: Traffic Jams on the Superhighway....

   The day is definitely not off to a good start. Before most people in the
   USA had even awakened for the day, several eastern-seaboard routers had
   failed, causing traffic to be rerouted through connections now forced to
