After lots of discussion with Cortlandt, I think I should clarify one of
the statements I made a few days ago. Here is my original statement:

Most importantly, I feel users groups (including INTEREX) should be run
by users, not consultants or HP. (I have nothing against HP or
consultants, but I feel they should not have a dominance in running an
indpendent users group.)

As I told Cortlandt, I do not always communicate in the best way and my
meaning seems to get blurred. So let me try and clarify.

I think all members of INTEREX (HP, Vendors, Consultants, 'Users', ect.)
should have the right to serve in volunteer roles within INTEREX,
including the Board of Directors. Having said that, I also believe that
there needs to be a balance in the make-up of the leadership areas,
especially on the Board of Directors. I don't think it benefits any of
us if the Board is 100% HP, 100% Consultants or even 100% 'Users'. It is
very difficult to determine the best balance but there should be some
limitations
or guidelines put forth. I think that 'Users' should be strongly
represented on the Board and that can be in numbers or simply strong
leaders, and I feel that I can be one of those strong leaders.

I hope this helps clarify my previous statement.
