I checked with folks I know at Exxon U.S.A., and they're
still running an application I helped develop in 1982 to
collect oil well production information for their entire
domestic production.  The application on the HP collects
field instrument readings which are gathered by other
IBM equipment and fed to the HP, non-stop 24 hrs a day,
7 days a week.  The interface is only shutdown once
a month for a couple of hours of maintenance.  Otherwise
it runs continously 30-31 days non-stop, collecting,
calculating and updating field production data....
