Dear Speedware/HP3000 User:

Jim Alton, Special Consultant to Fioravanti-Redwood Inc. (FRI), has written
a utility program that allows Speedware programs to access system
environment variables on the HP3000. The program, written in C and
complied into a XL, gives developers easy access to system variables such
as HPSUSAN, HPDTCPORTID, HPQUIET, HPINTERACTIVE, etc., with a single line
of Speedware code. (Note: jGetEnv was created based on previous questions
posted to this list.)

The jGetEnv is available free for download at FRI's web site
(htttp://www.FRInc.com).

Jim Alton is an HP3000 and HP9000 system developer and the editor of FRI's
Internet/Intranet Q&A Forum (http://www.FRInc.com). Jim can be reached at
