Stephen,

Sounds like you're trying to transfer an ASCII file. Take a look at
BLDPARMS.ARPA.SYS. If you change the first value there, it may do
what you're looking for. I haven't tried it, so I can't be certain it will
work.

I'm trying to FTP from VMS 6.2 to a HP 996 running 5.5 using FTP.

I need to "manage" the record size and file size on the "Put" from the

Wants to come over 80 chars by default.
