This is a healthy trend in big-company management. No "strategy" is set in
concrete and human beings can change their mind, after all.

AOL changed its corporate mind from an eager-beaver super-active mode to a
restrained mode (regarding the "advertising" of the telephone numbers of
its subscribers). Hopefully, HP will change its corporate mind from a VERY
restrained mode to an eager-beaver super-active mode (regarding the active
promotion -- and continued development -- of its very own HP3000 computer).

I can see the headlines now:

Top HP management says at HP World in Chicago:

"Upon further reflection, we today decided to change our plans. We
will proactively pursue the tremendous opportunities that the HP3000
offers to HP and to its loyal customers and partners. No more
        passivity."

I am looking forward to Mr. Belluzzo's inspiring speech in Chicago.
