Subject: HPSUSAN

>Does anybody know how to change the HPSUSAN number ?

Users cannot change the HPSUSAN value, but HP can. It is a unique
identifier for the machine - and as pointed out earlier, based on the serial
number and other parameters.

There are software packages which use this value to ensure that licensing is
being protected. HP uses it to track machines and their owners, amongst
other things.

There should be no reason to have to change the HPSUSAN number, except if
you upgrade your machine to another physical machine, and need to get your
applications which use the HPSUSAN number working. In this case, there are
utilities with the vendor's software to change the HPSUSAN number being
checked that can be run.
