Okay, remember the 220 VAC UPS that I wanted to get 110 VAC from?
Well, I finally got pricing on a 220-110 1KVA Power Transformer. It's
a SOLA #HS14F1AS from Newark Electronics. The cost is $300! For that
much money I can get a 600VA UPS from APC. So which is the better way
to go:
(1) Get the power transformer and run the modems and networking equipment
from the HP UPS (1.6KVA) or
(2) Get a separate UPS to handle the modems and networking equipment.
The HP 1.6 KVA UPS is running a 918RX with 2-2GB internal drives and
1-2GB external drive in a HASS enclosure with a 700/96 terminal attached.
I need to power two modems, one CISCO router, one DSU, and the telco
56KB circuit repeater. I'm leaning toward just buying another UPS and
then I won't have to "mess" around with the transformer and wiring, etc.
What do you think?
