I can neither RESTORE nor VSTORE any files from these backups.

I suspect:

1) It might be something having to do with the number of files
stored, since I am able to divide the full backup between two tapes of
around 10000 and 6000 files, with the latter containing the ;DIRECTORY parm. [...]45_11Jul199717:36:[log in to unmask]

Ask Multiview about their Y2K solution -- I doubt that you'll be too   
impressed.
But at least it, like mpe/v, will last until 2027 by which time I hope to   
be longer
personally interested.
