I believe the "MPE/iX Shell and Utilities User Guide" has a chapter on AWK
as well as many other tools and topics around the Posix Shell. At least the
first one or two chapters might be useful to get a fundamental intro...

I confess that I did not read the Lex and Yacc chapters thoroughly ;-)
