Heather Goudey states:

     HP 3000 Customers

The following statement is how we've described support for CM
     products.

**MPE/iX Compatibility Mode Software Subsystem Support**
HP will provide ongoing support for those compatibility mode (CM)
products used on MPE/iX systems that do not have equivalent native
mode replacements. However, for CM products used on MPE/iX
systems
that have equivalent native mode replacements, support will end on
     September 1, 1998.

Now let me clarify with some examples:

Category A products have no customers on support. Because no
support
customers will be impacted, support will end August 1, 1997.

Category B includes all products whose support will end September
1,
1998. This category includes the MPE/V operating system,
MPE/V-only
products and those CM products that HAVE EQUIVALENT NM
counterparts.
Products like Edit/V and NS/3000 V have equivalent NM counterparts
                           ^^^^^^
so will therefore have support end on September 1, 1998.

Uh, when did we get the native mode version of Editor, I seem to have
only the CM version. Perhaps you mean the product HPEDIT/V
