David,
I, for one, have used SUPRTOOL extensively at two corporations for the
past 5 years and have always counted on the default of SET SQUEEZE ON.
We always have concerns about disk space and like the idea of not
having files any larger than they need to be.
I would vote to not have the default changed.

Some of you may wonder what the default is for Set Squeeze. The
answer is that it varies a lot and the reasons why are buried in the
distant past and perhaps made sense in 1979 when they were written.
Because the default varies a lot and is dependent on the input source,
it is a good idea to always specify Set Squeeze Off when you want to
insure that the output file will not have its LIMIT reduced to EOF.
We have had internal discussions at Robelle about changing the default
for Set Squeeze to Off, but there are potential affects, even in
MPE/iX, that suggest we just leave things the way they are.
Cheers,
