John brings up a good question.  The conference is really not any shorter,
it is indeed 5 days long, if you include the pre-conference seminars.  I
have just finished the room allocation exercise and my spreadsheet shows
265 hours of papers/tutorials and roundtables.  This does not include any
SIGs or the management roundtable.  The equivalent session-hours last year
totaled 264.  In Toronto, we had 212 hours of papers, roundtables and
tutorials.
