To Any/All Samba/iX Gurus

I have tried every suggestion on printing to MPE spooled devices
that I have been able to find. First: Samba host is on a 917/lx up on
5.0. I would like to print to the standard LP device which happens to be
a 5000/f100. I do know that the printer successfully understands PCL4
and prints all forms of fonts and graphics via Netware/iX. Second: I am
printing from NT 4.0 using the HP Laser Jet II drivers. Logging on and
browsing and editing is a snap and I have great plans for this. (dump
Netware/iX). I am using the RAWLP utility in the smb.conf file per
Lars Appel. By all indications on the PC side the printing is successful
but the file never gets as far as the MPE spooler. I can see
the file in the appropriate path (/tmp/) in the form of (userid.xxxxxx).
If I run the RAWLP command from with in the POSIX shell, the MPE
spoolfile is then created and is printed with everything intact. Testprn
lists the "LP" as ok. This printing hurdle is the final step in
presenting Samba as the solution we need to the people who need to see
it.
