:SHOWVAR HPUSERLIMIT
HPUSERLIMIT = -1
will show the current user license level.
(-1 means unlimited).

This value should be checked after any processor hardware changes! As you
won't notice it until the users
start logging on en force.

Last week a customer of ours upgraded to a 797-300 and wound up with the
processor set to 8 users!!!

Subject: User License Level?

>Is there a way to determine what the user license level is on an
>HP3000? Specifically a Series 918 running MPE/iX 5.5 PP 1. I see
>there are "predefined" variables HPUSERCOUNT and HPUSERLIMIT. Do
>these have any meaning in terms of user license level?
>
>The reason I'm asking is that I installed our new 918 and then a week
>later I received a package supposedly containing "A3417A Field Upgrade
>HP3000 918" with option "A3172A\UCY Upgrade 32 User License to 40 User
>License". I say supposedly because the only items in the box were
>the packing slip, some self stick labels that say "User License: 40",
>and a blank DAT tape (I mean blank, as in still sealed in the shrink
>wrap from HP).
>
>I have my Channel Partner working on this, but they seem to be on
>the slow side (like I've been waiting for the SharePlex/NetBase to
>ship for a month now and it was supposed to come pre-installed), so
>any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
