Denys listed many "fine" examples of the bulk email we all probably
get (I got two more pyramid scheme messages this morning!), but
I treat them the same way I do the junk USPS mail I receive...
<insert sound of throwing trash away here>

I viewed the consultants list at Interex a few months ago, and opted
not to subscribe. I also don't place an entry in their quarterly product
supplement for the same reason; I don't see the return value "for me"
being there. That doesn't mean that there's not value, just not for me.
I've been on the Internet as a "consumer" for many years now, and
when I did finally put up my own web site, one of the first things I
did was to put my HP3000 links page together. It has been free since
day one, and will continue to be free. It's not as comprehensive as
that maintained by Brian at the 3k.com site, but it's a simple one page
tells all design, and it is hit regularly.
One of the things that attracted me to the Internet, and which I and
many others (Denys is very near the top of this list :) share, is the spirit
of sharing information FREELY. Everyone (well, most everyone) has
to earn a living, but helping others out when they get stuck on something
has multiple benefits, name recognition, good will, peace of mind, etc.
I've always tried to answer questions poised to me as best I could, regardless
of who asked it. Even when getting things straightened takes a good deal
of time, I still give it my best shot. Doing this certainly doesn't earning me a
living, but I feel that I need to give back something that so many others did
(and continue to do!) for me. This is what the Internet is all about for me.

So, if I have omitted anyone from my HP3000 Links list, it is purely an
oversight on my part, and please send me an updated URL. It takes only
a minute for me to update. To go directly to it, use this URL:

Well, Joe presents compelling arguments for low cost links, but he hasn't
seen many sites. At Hicomp, we are constantly being sent messages from
other webmasters offering to have links to our page, at their page, for
what they term good deals or low prices. Generally they vary from
$500/month to a lot more. Long ago, I stopped being surprised at these
costs, they are so common.

Kind regards,
