     - I still haven't caught up reading all my 'digests', so some of this
     msg might not be 'timely'.

     Gone, but not forgotten:
I wonder if the editor file that was lost was still out there as a
     temp 'K' file?
Thanks for mentioning this problem. We've had this problem as well,
but we thought it was QEDIT that was causing it (most of the
programmers use that), but now I know it is MPE 5.5 (to which we
     recently updated).

The 908 - A great idea. The HP3000 is a great machine to use, but it
seems like HP is under the impression that people buy the hardware
first, then the software, when it's usually the other way around. IOW,
if you want people to buy your hardware, you need to make it easy for
people to create software for it. This long-range view might not make
the HP shareholders happy (who tend to look for short-term profits
only), but it is what is needed to stay 'on top' in the market.

While I'm at it, I thought I'd include a little command file I wrote,
to allow people to PRINT a file to any LaserJet that they know the
     name of (using SpoolMate):

     LZP.Command.sys:
     PARM FILE
     SETVAR PRINTER ""
     FILE LZP;DEV=LP,1
     PRINT !FILE,*LZP
     ECHO Printer Name?
     INPUT PRINTER
     ECHO Please wait...
     PAUSE 15
     RUN CONMAN.SPOOL.CCC;INFO="ALTER F=LZP;DEV=!PRINTER;PRI=99"

also, could Ferenc Nagy contact me via email? I
plan to go to Budapest in August, and had
     difficulty trying to email you.
