We use both RAID-1 (EMC Symmetrix) and RAID-3 (HP 'Cascade' disk
arrays) - both allow for hot swaps of HDA's.

Howdy,

We've got a new disc array coming in and have a choice of RAID level 0 or 1 or
5.
I've waded the net 'til blind. Made enough calls 'til menu deaf. So I'm going
to try
my trusty 3k-l.

We're pretty much settled on level 5. It's claimed that this configuration
gives you
"hot swappable" drives. My question is: Are they really hot swappable?

Any experiences good or bad appreciated.

Regards,
