DTR is produced by the HP3000 not the modem, so the modem cannot force it
on (but it can behave AS IF it were forced on). What you want is for the
modem to behave correctly when the HP3000 drops DTR. To ensure this, there
is a parameter &D which you want to set to 2, which causes the modem to
disconnect when the DTR drops. DTR will drop if you have modem support on
the DTC and pin 6 on the HP3000 is connected to pin 20 on the modem.
